We worked on our wikis a little more this week, focusing on editing wikis and how people can collaborate on them.I think it’s interesting how people can work together on one or more wikis. Some of the readings did get a little confusing and even convoluted with how many links there were to go through. Admittedly, I haven’t really been able to focus on it, no matter how many times I read through it (but that’s my own problem). I also had a bit of a hard time in choosing which articles I wanted to contribute to or edit, and what to edit in them.
The Daybook also brought up the question, “Can blogs and wikis be merged?” By the definitions we’ve discussed in class (blogs being more like conversations and wikis more similar to group collaborations or group projects), some might say no.
Personally, I think it’s a possibility. Like I mentioned, blogs are the conversations between the writer(s) and the readers, and the wikis can be a more formal way to get the facts or for writers and readers to collaborate. Wikis can be for the facts of the linked blog(s).
